Still Life or Death

New painting!

16 x 20 oil on canvas

This might just be a weird painting. I wanted to comment on how artists paint still lifes of things like fruit and flowers to show the transient nature of life, but what shows that better than a fragile, dead creature? So I have a pretty vase of flowers next to a dead bird. I'm still on a pattern kick juging from the vases!

An experiment in Abstraction!

Crazy, right? Not very me, but I wanted to experiment. 16 x 20 oil on canvas board

When I am bored I like to make collages where I put animals heads on the bodies of Victorian people.

and another shot of the paintings in the studio for good measure!

like a deer in the headlights

I just finished this painting. It is oil and acrylic on canvas, 24 x 30 inches. Yes, it is a deer head mounted on a damask patterned wallpaper wearing a pearl necklace. Doing that pattern sucked the life out of me. Probably took over 10 hours just on the pattern. But thats ok!

also! my new studio space!
it is wee in size, not terribly clean to begin with, and I share it with another person, but I am thrilled none the less!
