insects and books take 2

if you recall in an earlier post I made insect specimens, well I have revisited that idea. Look closely there is something bizarre about each of them! mutants one and all! acrylic paint on folio paper, cut out and displayed.

and my second attempt at making a book! much better!!

new projects

Victorian Zombie Paper toys! they're made of tracing paper and pencil and paper and paint and tongue depressors and ribbon. They're supposed to be like strange Victorian toys that reveal the figure's skeletons when you hold them up to the light.

my very first attempt at book-binding! Not terrible!

Portrait Exchange!

Ain't I just the rootin-est, tootin-est! This portrayal of me was drawn by none other than Justin Hubbell of SheepsPond Go to his site if you want to see my drawing of him!
I am appreciating the wallpaper!
Justin is busting out into the world of comic books and graphic lit, be sure to check it out! Meet Captain Lester among other characters! Although there are many witticisms to be found Mr. Hubbell is also using the medium of comic books to express serious and honest things as well. We thought this whole portrait exchange would be a fun thing to do and a way to expose our readers to other artists you might like.

I tried to handle my drawing of him to reveal the dichotomy of the humorous but poignant in his work. I think he captured my silly side, which is a very valid side indeed!
