Zombie Antoinette Completed! and contest winner!

"Pardon me sir, I meant not to do it." are Marie's recorded last words before they, well, you know.

AND THE WINNER IS.....LRC! please comment with your mailing address and your paper doll prize will be on her way to you soon!
I must say 6 entries is a little on the meager side. Perhaps there are not enough people reading this blog to do such a give-away, perhaps in the future.

Anniversary Give-Away!

So, I didn't realize this, but I started this blog a year ago on November 8th, 2008 (really this should have been last week's post, but bear with me) and that's a whole bloody year of blogging! I also notice that I now have 50 followers, another accomplishment! To celebrate I am doing something I have really wanted to try with this here blog, which is a Give-away!

Post a comment to this entry, shoot me a "hello" or, ideally, tell me something you would like to see from this blog and I will select a comment at random (by "at random" I mean the one that I like the most:) to be the winner!
On saturday, November 21st I will announce and contact the winner, and get their mailing address. The winner will receive the above paper doll "Annabel Lee for coloring" (the actual one is printed on lovely cream colored card stock)Its a personal favorite of mine, that I no longer sell in my shop, so please comment on this post for a chance to win her!
good luck!

Zombie Antoinette

so here is a relatively completed Marie. That banner above her will, certainly, have some kind of text on it when I can decide on what to say. 22 x 28 in. mixed media on canvas. An awkward size to frame, hmmmm. And its hard to tell from this photo but the blood is red glitter (!) and the stars and clouds all have an iridescent/metallic sheen. The rose, if you look closely (clicking the image enlarges it) has been nibbled away at. and of course, there's my friend Rex.

CLOSE UP ON DISEMBODIED, EIGHTEENTH CENTURY ZOMBIE HEAD

and this is a brooch I made in a metal-smithing class. It is all copper that I hand pierced and cut and soldered (with a small blow torch, ah!) its not perfect but there it is!

also, check out this lovely blog mention from the lovely Jillian whom I did this commission for, yup!
